Training & Education Specialist
The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking an experienced professional with a passion for education, advocacy, and creating just communities. This position works primarily within the Violence Intervention & Prevention Department, providing community education related to domestic violence and sexual assault, as well as conducting new advocate and volunteer training sessions.
The ideal candidate is an engaging presenter, organized coordinator, and strong relationship-builder who enjoys working with employees, volunteers, and community partners.
Position Details
- Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Flexibility is required to accommodate evening and weekend programming, community education, and volunteer training.
- Compensation: $25.64/hr.
Responsibilities
- Deliver standardized domestic violence and sexual assault advocate training and shadowing programs in accordance with program requirements.
- Provide new employee training and ongoing training as needed.
- Coordinate the volunteer program, including onboarding, training, compliance, and continuing education.
- Deliver educational presentations to schools, community organizations, and other community groups as assigned.
- Conduct community outreach to increase awareness of YWCA services and resources including tabling events.
- Build and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
- Track and report training, education, and volunteer program data.
- Maintain approved training curricula, educational materials, and resource library.
- Work with leadership and department heads to identify and coordinate employee training needs.

Requirements
- Associate degree in Communications, Human Services, Education, or related field; Bachelor’s degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience providing education and/or training programs
- Knowledge of domestic violence, sexual assault, trauma, and victim safety; with familiarity or experience using trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and empowerment-based approached to service delivery preferred.
- Valid driver's license and reliable personal transportation
- Ability to obtain required PA Child Abuse, Criminal History, and FBI clearances
