The YWCA Greater Harrisburg is seeking compassionate, skilled Case Managers to join our team dedicated to supporting victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking. Positions involve providing comprehensive case management services to individuals impacted by abuse/violence, offering support, resources, and guidance as they navigate recovery and safety planning. The ideal candidate will be a proactive advocate with experience in crisis intervention, counseling, and community resource coordination.

As a case manager you may be working with survivors in emergency shelter or transitional housing settings or community-based housing/rental assistance programs.  




Position Details: 
  • Hours: 37.5 hour work week; Monday-Friday 8am-4pm; some on-call as needed.
  • Pay rate $20-$21/hr.
  • Positions available in both Dauphin and Perry counties
Primary Responsibilities Include:
  • Client Support, Service Planning, and Advocacy:
    • Conduct initial intake assessments to identify clients' needs, strengths, and immediate safety concerns.
    • Develop individualized service plans in collaboration with clients, setting achievable goals for recovery, safety, and stability.
    • Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and information on services and available resources.
  • Case Management and Coordination:
    • Coordinate with community resources such as housing providers, county assistance office, legal aid, healthcare providers, and counseling services.
    • Assist clients in accessing housing, job training, and other resources necessary for stability.
  • Safety Planning and Risk Assessment:
    • Develop and implement safety plans for clients, tailored to their specific needs and risks.
    • Conduct ongoing risk assessments to ensure clients’ safety and adjust safety plans as necessary.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain accurate, confidential records of client interactions, progress, and service provision.
    • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards regarding data collection, confidentiality, and reporting.
  • Crisis Response and Support
    • Deliver immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivors including hotline/crisis counseling and shelter intakes.
    • Accompany survivors to legal and medical appointments, ensuring they feel supported and informed throughout the process.
    • Assist in obtaining emergency protective orders and other urgent resources to enhance survivors' safety.

Position Requirements: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience providing case management services to individuals experiencing trauma or other vulnerable populations.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed care, crisis intervention, and survivor-centered approaches.
  • Must have familiarity with local resources and systems related to domestic violence, sexual assault, and human trafficking.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to remain calm and supportive in crisis situations.
  • Proficiency in case management software and documentation practices.
  • Bilingual/multilingual candidates encouraged to apply.
  • Availability to work on-call hours, including some evenings,  weekends, and/or holidays.
  • Must have reliable, personal transportation, driver’s license, insurance, and clean driver’s history.
  • Must be able to provide Child Abuse, State Police, and FBI clearances.
